"Through our collective efforts, we're not just providing financial support, but we're investing in Montana's vitality and resilience."

That from Mike Smith, president of Glacier Bank, which along with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines awarded $190,000 in grants to 17 nonprofit organizations in western Montana.

The grants were awarded through the FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund, a partnership between Glacier Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.

Every $1 donated by Glacier Bank was matched by the FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund, meaning the total amount awarded was $2,048,600, reports the Missoulian.

"Our commitment to giving back underscores our belief that true success is measured by the well-being of those we serve," Smith says in a press release.

In Flathead County, nine nonprofit organizations were awarded $10,000 grants, including Bigfork Food Bank, Boys & Girls Club of Glacier Country, Flathead Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley, ImagineIf Library Foundation, Kalispell Education Foundation, Northwest Montana Community Land Trust, and Whitefish Community Foundation.

The Samaritan House was awarded a $20,000 grant.
