If you're looking for a way to boost your energy without the side effects of coffee or tea, you may want to check out gummy vitamins.
They're "one of the fastest growing dosage formats on the market," reports Nutritional Outlook.
Sirio Pharma's 250-mg EpiCor gummy contains sugar alcohol and fibers, but because they don't impart as much sweetness as sugar, the company adds natural high-intensity sweeteners such as stevia and monkfruit.
They're also much better for kids than other dosage formats, especially for kids, says the company's head of R&D.
But gummy vitamins aren't the only innovations in alternative dosage formats.
"We don't want to make a mushroom company become a coffee company or a coffee company add more caffeine through green tea," says the president of Nuherbs, a company that offers creative solutions.
For example, a client asked for a joint health brownie, so Nuherbs came up with a pre-blend that the client could use to mix and bake the brownies themselves.
