A Pennsylvania man's video of smokestacks falling near his home has gone viral after he posted it to Facebook last week.

Joe Kern, of Springdale, Pa., says he was outside his house watching the demolition of a power plant when he saw smoke coming out of one of the stacks.

He then posted the video to Facebook, where it has been viewed more than 1.7 million times as of this writing, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

According to the video, the power plant was being demolished when the smokestacks fell.

"I thought it was funny at first," Kern tells the Post-Gazette.

"But then I realized it was real.

I didn't know what was going on."

According to the video, the power plant was in the process of being demolished when the smokestacks fell.

Kern, who is in his early 20s, was in high school when the smokestacks fell.

He was in the engineering pathway, not the arts, according to his high school teacher.

"He was a very talented young man," she tells the Post-Gazette.

"He was really creative.

He was actually in the engineering pathway, not the arts.
