A customized collection of grant news from foundations and the federal government from around the Web.
The idea is to better understand the relationship between food and health, and the project's goal is to make "a significant change in our understanding of the relationship between food and health," says Martin Howarth, director of Hallam's National Center of Excellence for Food Engineering.
Among other things, the researchers want to figure out why some people are more likely to eat sugar-heavy foods than others, and why some people are more likely to eat fats and sugars.
They'll also work with the food and beverage industry to come up with solutions.
The project is one of six new hubs funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.Selected Grant News Headlines
