PG Community Foundation Awards $138-thousand In Grants

The town of Prince George, British Columbia, is getting a boost from a not-for-profit foundation that's been around for more than two decades.

The Prince George Community Foundation has given more than $140,000 to community organizations over the last few years, the Chronicle Herald reports.

The group's executive director says the money is used to support a wide range of causes, from arts and culture to health and social services.

"We're very fortunate to have this board," she says.

"They're very committed to supporting the community."

The foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for Prince George residents.
