"In the face of climate change, replicating the tribal lifestyle becomes even more crucial," Droupadi Murmu, India's president, said Saturday at the opening of a four-day tribal festival in the northern city of Almora.
The Times of India reports that the Adi Mahotsav, which began Saturday, will feature more than 300 stalls featuring tribal art, handicrafts, natural products, and cuisine, as well as a food court offering tribal cuisines known for their health benefits.
The president stressed the need to learn from tribal communities to live in harmony with nature, especially when the "modernization race has caused significant harm to the Earth and its natural resources," per the Times of India.
