Helen Keller Intl Announces Sarah Bouchie as Its Next President and Chief Executive Officer

After 19 years under the leadership of Kathy Spahn, Helen Keller International has announced a new CEO.

Sarah Bouchie will take over on Jan.

1, 2024, and will focus on children and social justice in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the US, per a press release.

"It's an extraordinary time in the world, one that demands of all of us to envision a world in which every child and every family can discover their potential," Bouchie says.

Bouchie, who will be based in Zimbabwe, most recently led the LEGO Foundation's global efforts to promote inclusive education and early childhood development, per the release.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Bouchie as our new president and CEO," says Bill Toppeta, chair of Helen Keller's board of trustees.

"And yet, there's so much more we need to do.

With Sarah at the helm, we are poised to accelerate, expand, and partner with even more families around the world."

Bouchie says she's "thrilled and honored" to join the Helen Keller International team.

"By delivering the essential building blocks of good health, sound nutrition, and clear vision, the organization helps millions of people create lasting change in their own lives," she says
