The Canadian company Amylior is working with a regional health board in Montreal to develop an app that would help manage the risks associated with pressure sores among wheelchair users, the CBC reports.

Other projects in the works include a tool for reproducing therapy at home, a fall detection system to reduce time spent on the floor after a fall, and a system to prevent obesity.

Quebec's health minister says innovation is "a key element" of the province's health plan and that he wants to remove "certain taboos regarding collaboration between private companies and health care," the Montreal Gazette reports.
