$600K Investment for Research Collaboration

The German state of Bavaria and the Australian state of Queensland are teaming up to work on a host of cutting-edge projects, including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, clean energy, and emission reduction, the Guardian reports.

"We are shaping our future together because we both know that we need to provide answers to pressing questions on a global scale," Markus Blume, the Bavarian state minister of science and the arts, says in a press release.

"We are now advancing the cooperation between our states under this agreement and I look forward to seeing the joint Declaration of Intent bearing fruit in the months and years to come."

The Australian government is providing $600,000 in funding for the Queensland-Bavaria Collaborative Research Program, which Blume says "will help us in our drive towards the goals of the Queensland Climate Action Plan 2030."

"Research opportunities flowing from the partnershipespecially into green and synthetic fuels, better energy storage, emission reduction technologies, and bio-economywill help us in our drive towards the goals of the Queensland Climate Action Plan 2030," Queensland's minister of science and innovation, Leanne Linard, says in the press release.

Blume says the goal is to "develop partnerships and research collaboration in the areas of clean energy and storage, emission reduction technologies, artificial intelligence,
