Epstein Becker Guides Conn. Hospital, Ny Nonprofit Merger

Epstein Becker Green is advising Connecticut's Nuvance Health on its proposed merger with New York's Northwell Health, which would create the country's largest not-for-profit health system, Law360 reports.

The two-state deal, which is expected to close in the third quarter of this year, would see Nuvancewhich runs more than 100 hospitals in Connecticut and New Yorkacquired by Northwell, which runs more than 500 hospitals in New York and New Jersey and is the country's largest not-for-profit health system, per the Wall Street Journal.

Nuvance is headquartered in Simsbury, Conn., while Northwell is headquartered in White Plains, NY.

The firms say the two-state deal, which has the support of regulators in both states, would give Northwell access to more resources in Connecticut and New York, where Nuvance doesn't currently operate.

"This is a great opportunity for Northwell to expand its presence in New York and Connecticut," Nuvance's CEO says in a statement.

Epstein Becker Green is advising Nuvance on the deal, which has the support of Northwell's board of directors.
