Walmart is donating $1 million to help people in the Gaza Strip who have been affected by the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, the New York Times reports.
"With the pause in fighting, the Walmart Foundation is committing $1 million to support Direct Relief, a nonprofit organization that will help provide emergency medical aid to civilians in Gaza as conditions permit," Walmart said in a statement.
"Our hearts remain with our associates, customers and members who have been personally impacted, as well as all those suffering as a result of this situation."
Walmart made a similar donation to Israel's Magen David Adom emergency services group last month, the Times notes.

Sustainable Principles for an Innovating Nigeria
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) released the Nigerian Sustainable Banking Principles, an agreement signed by 34 banks, including the original eight of the nation’s leading banks, that covered nine key areas: environmental and social risk management, environmental and social footprint, human rights, women’s economic empowerment, financial inclusion, environmental and social governance, capacity building, collaborative partnerships and reporting.
