Herzing University Launches Innovative Public Health Concentration in Nursing

If you're already a registered nurse and looking for a new direction, Herzing University may have just the degree for you.

The New York nonprofit's new Master of Science in Nursing in Public Health is designed "to equip you with the tools to make a profound impact on healthcare systems," the school says in a press release.

"Public health nurses play a pivotal role in addressing the health needs of populations, from local neighborhoods to national policy initiatives," says Dr.cia Wagner, the associate dean of online graduate nursing for Herzing University.

"As a PHN, you have the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between healthcare policies and real-world patient outcomes," she adds.

The program offers two tracks: a classic pathway to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an accelerated RN-to-MSN-PH program for current registered nurses who have completed an Associate of Science in Nursing degree, per the press release.

"By adding a Public Health concentration to our existing MSN program, we've designed a pathway that can lead this essential charge toward better health for all," Wagner says.

Students will take specific courses on topics including technology and nursing informatics, research methods, and evidence-based practice, epidemiology, pathophysiology, and much more, per the press release
