The American College of Radiology has named its new CEO, William Thorwarth Jr., who will helm the not-for-profit organization when Thorwarth steps down at the end of the year, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Thorwarth has been with the college since 1979 and has served as its president since 2009.
Prior to that, he was president and CEO of the Radiological Society of North America.
In his new role, Thorwarth will be responsible for the strategic direction of the college, as well as for the overall direction of the American College of Radiology, according to a press release.
Thorwarth will also be a member of the board of directors of the American College of Radiology and the American College of Radiology Foundation.
