The University of Michigan is on the hunt for a new director for its Center for Innovation in Detroit.

The center, which is set to open in the fall, will focus on education, entrepreneurship, and research in the city, the Detroit Free Press reports.

"The director will be in a position to help create a vibrant and broadly inclusive ecosystem focused on improving the economic vitality of the city," James Hilton, the university's vice provost for academic innovation, says in a press release.

The UMCI director will be a "critical ambassador to a wide range of Detroit stakeholders," according to the release, and will be responsible for administering workforce development programs, supporting schools and colleges, fostering entrepreneurship programs, managing the center's budget, and implementing a strategic plan for the center's growth, development, and financial sustainability.
