Using the Past to Create the Future As the Colorado Health Institute approaches its 20th anniversary in 2022, we reflect on our accomplishments over the previous two decades and are thankful for the support we've received from Colorado's health policy community. Starting with our creation by foresighted groups that saw the need for an independent health research center, the timeline below covers milestones from CHI's history.

Year after year, CHI has grown from a tiny data and analytic center to an incubator for significant organizations like Connect for Health Colorado, to a strategic adviser and convener for new health and health justice initiatives. In 2021, CHI's priorities were to react to the pandemic's effects, address socioeconomic determinants of health, and provide research, analysis, and insight to inform health and health equality efforts across the state. We'll use what we've learned in the future to meet our purpose of enhancing health for all Coloradans by integrating care systems, supporting mental health, and adapting to a changing environment.

This work has energised us, as have the potential that our third decade provides. As we explore innovative approaches to improve the health and lives of people in our state, we look forward to expanding on our 20 years of experience and our valued cooperation with Colorado's health community.
