In a not-so-surprising development, some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world are teaming up with an Israeli science park to create a digital health innovation lab, the Times of Israel reports.
The Israel Innovation Authority and the National Digital Israel Initiative announced Tuesday that Amazon, Pfizer, Merck, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and the Israel Biotech Fund had won the bid to create the digital health lab in the Rehovot Science Park.
The digital health lab, which is scheduled to open in 2021, will help early-stage startups develop AI-based computational technologies that can be used to discover and develop new treatments and medications.
The partners will also provide access to their "unique scientific know-how and leading experts" in the fields of digital health and computational biology.
