The University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Teaching and Faculty Support Center has been awarding faculty grants for years, but this year it's offering something new: videos.
The videos, which can be seen here, "will effectively communicate the option of making a video about their work," says the center's co-director, Lynn Meade.
This year's recipients, who will present their projects with the grants at an event next month, include a team that worked with students to create a virtual reality model of an actual house, reports the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
The idea for the videos came from professor Cheryl Murphy, who came up with the idea for a partnership between the center and the Global Campus partner in 1992, Meade says in a press release.
The grants "will have tremendous positive impacts on the learning and well-being" of students, she adds.
