The state of Pennsylvania is dishing out $8.75 million in grants to four projects in the Philadelphia area, one of which will see a new medical campus built on an old industrial building, Philly.com reports.

"These grants are an investment in the people that make up the fabric of District 185," says state Rep.Regina Young, who announced the grants.

The projects are: $5 million to Philadelphia Energy Solutions Refining and Marketing LLC for Bellwether District South Philadelphia for Industrial Growth Phase 1, which will see "a comprehensive redevelopment of the Bellwether District."

$1.5 million to the Fairmount Park Conservancy for FDR Park's Picnic and Play Phase I, which will see "a new shared park road with parking and bike lanes, associated green stormwater management and ADA-accessible pathways and parking," per a press release.

$1 million to Campenella Development LLC for Greater Philadelphia Health Action at 2230 Island Ave., which will see a new medical campus built on the site.

The project will take an existing industrial building and convert it into a multi-story health care facility with primary care, dental, OBGYN, behavior health, pharmacy services, and a short-term in-patient mental health facility with multiple intake rooms and induction rooms.
