UHS school-based health clinics have been awarded a grant as part of Lauren Colantonio’s “Philanthropy and Civil Society” course at the Binghamton University. The grant in the amount of $4,000 will help kids at Benjamin Franklin and Theodore Roosevelt elementary schools lead a healthier life.
The Binghamton University grant to UHS will allow students to have more access to a doctor, dentist and social worker as well as they will be taught together with their families about nutrition and healthy living options. Also, the funds will be used to purchase plants and supplies for the garden, equipment and food for the cooking demonstrations and cooperative games that encourage parents and kids to play together.
